Computer Controlled Machining a.k.a CNC

MAKE SOMETHING BIG!

All the studen should desing, cut and assemble something big! and when i mean big i mean really big!

Electronic Design

Redraw the echo hello-world board

All the studen should redesign the HELLO WORL BOARD by adding at least a button and an LED (with theirs respective side components)Check the design rules and fabricate it.

All the studen should design and 3D print an object (small, few cm) that could not be made subtractively.They also have to 3D scan an object (and optionally print it) with an extra credit(make your own scanner)

Electronic Production

This week the students are required to make make an in-circuit programmer.

All the studen should make their own programmer so they can programm theirs future boards.They will use a precision milling cnc for cutting theirs PCBS, solder the components and get theirs first steps in to the programming world.

Computer Controlled Cutting a.k.a LaserCut

This week the students are required to design and make a corrugated cardboard press-fit construction kit .

Most of our students are trying Grasshopper as a parametric modeling tool, others try to use 123d Make. Theirs first prototype is made in normal 3mm corrugated cardboard, after they fully functional prototype they try depending on theirs personal preferences with plywood, acryl and some of them try to use also the metal laser cutter. What results/designs we will see when they finish theirs cuts?
